June 20	Wet in wet warm up exercises
June 27	"What should I paint in the background?" We'll work with simple flower shapes and do exercises trying different backgrounds. The problem will involve choosing colors and laying a smooth wash. Bring a few flowers.
July 4	no class
July 11	Chen-Kee Chee style fish - lifting out shapes from a wet wash. Bring photos of one or two well defined fish - koi or rock fish in kelp beds are possibilities.
July 18	Using a Sharpee pen to define shapes and later adding color. We will be going outside to the History House to sketch. Bring Sharpee pen.
July 25	Carl Larsson style painting of figure in an interior. Stage and take photo and enlarge to painting size.
August 1	Night Scene - creating the illusion of both weak illumination and luminosity. Bring reference photos with low light and some with moonlight or lit windows or signs.
